non-prescription sport frames. These specialized frames are essential
for acitivities including (but not limited to) baseball/softball,
basketball, football, soccer, lacrosse, field/ice hockey and swimming.
We are always receiving the newest styles and colors of today's
most popular frames. Our selection of child tested and approved
frames is unrivaled.
LENSES: NOT ALL LENSES ARE CREATED
EQUAL
Today's popular lens material offer excellent benefits to wearers
of any age. We work closely with our laboratory to ensure that each
lens is flawless and correctly made. This dedication to quality
and individual attention does take time. Most glasses will be complete
in three to five business days; however, complex prescriptions such
as prisms, polarized lenses, mirror coatings, tinting, or special
bifocals may require more time.
Aspheric
lenses are recommended for higher prescription powers. The
benefits include: lighter and thinner lenses. These lenses are optically
and cosmetically superior to standard lens materials.
Polycarbonate lenses are recommended
for not just children, but for anyone who lives a more active lifestyle.
Polycarbonate lenses offer ten times the impact resistence of ordinary
plastic and 25 times the resistance of glass, proving that it is
the safest choice for your child. In addition to impact safety,
these particular lenses offer protection from potentially damaging
UVA and UVB rays.
LENS TREATMENTS: CUSTOMIZE YOUR LENSES
Antireflective (AR) treatment is a
coating applied to the lens to reduce reflected light from the lens
surface. The reduction of glare makes these lenses cosmetically
more appealing, as lenses appear nearly invisible. In addition,
the reduced glare improves the clarity of the lens thereby improving
vision.
Crizal lenses are an integrated system
of 2-sided scratch resistance, anti-reflective and hydro-phobic
technologies, providing you with unsurpassed visual clarity. Crizal's
advanced properties allow for ease with cleaning fingerprints and
smudges from the lens surface as well as two-sided scratch resistance
for tough long-lasting lenses.
Photochromic or 'transition' lenses
have a special light-sensitive membrane that responds to changes
in UV light and temperature to accommodate outdoor lifestyle. As
the UV rays increase or decrease, the lens darkens or lightens accordingly.
This particular feature has been used for many years, but advances
in technology have allowed for faster transition time.
SUNGLASSES: SUN PROTECTION IS NOT FOR SUMMER ALONE
We have a broad selection of adult and children's
sunglasses. Many of our frames have an optional sunglass clip-on
feature. In addition, any of our frames can be made into prescription
or non-prescription sunglasses.
Polarized lenses are the most effective
way to reduce glare and eliminate most of the sun's damaging rays.
The benefits include improved contrast, reduction of haze from atmospheric
conditions, enhanced color rendition, and greater depth perception.
Mirror coating is a special treatment
applied to the front surface of the lens through a process that
allows the lens to take on the properties of a two-way mirror. Mirror
coatings reflect the harsh light rays that are emitted from surfaces
such as water, snow, and ice. These coatings are available in a
wide array of colors.
ACCURACY IS IMPORTANT.
All of our frames and lenses are inspected prior to dispensing.
Our opticians are trained to detect lens irregularities and to ensure
prescription accuracy. The priorities in children's eyewear should
always be good vision, comfort, safety and value. We strive to ensure
that every pair of glasses that leave our optical shops meets our
accuracy standards as well as yours.
CONTACT LENSES.

soft and rigid gas-permeable contact lenses. These include daily
wear lenses, contact lenses for astigmatism, tinted lenses and bifocal
